Gli mwcaembritopodi (mwcqEmbrithopoda, il cui nome significa "dai piedi pesanti") sono un mwcgordine estinto di mwcwmammiferi ritrovati in mwdaAsia, mwdqAfrica ed mwdgEuropa orientale. La maggior parte dei generi di embritopodi sono conosciuti esclusivamente da mascelle e denti risalenti dal tardo mwdwPaleocene al tardo mweaEocene, circa 56-28 milioni di anni fa,cite-ref-2[2] ma l'ordine è meglio conosciuto dal suo membro più recente, mwfqmwfgArsinoitherium.cite-ref-rose-2006-3-0[3]

Descrizione
Sebbene gli embritopodi abbiano una somiglianza apparente con i mwiwrinoceronti, le loro corna avevano nuclei ossei coperti di pelle mwjacheratinizzata e non erano fatti di mwjqpeli. Non tutti gli embrithopoda possedevano corna. Nonostante il loro aspetto, sono considerati legati agli mwjgelefanti, non ai mwjwperissodattili.cite-ref-ucmp-4-0[4]
Come i tetiteri, si ritiene che embrithopoda faccia parte del clade mwlgAfrotheria.
